Higher Cheekbones
Q: I would like to have higher cheekbones. Is that possible with plastic surgery?
A: Actually, yes. Plastic surgeons can perform cheek implant surgery which is generally done to add drama and definition to the cheeks.
Cheek implants are usually done in conjunction with a face lift or other cosmetic surgical procedure. Unless the procedure is done with
another surgery where the incision for that procedure can be used to insert the implant, the surgeon will make an incision inside the
lower eyelid or inside the upper lip and create a pocket where the implant will reside.
You should be sure to do your homework before considering any plastic surgery. Talk to your
local regulatory agency for plastic surgeons, and interview doctors carefully. Ask to see before and after photos, and to speak with
clients who have had the procedure. There can be side effects and complications from any medical procedure. You will serve yourself
well to stay informed and do your homework.
