This spring, Claudia Sträter is putting the spotlight on the modern classics with a collection that is an ode to the trench coat, the
tunic, the little cardigan, jeans and, above all, the dress. No woman can do without the classics in her wardrobe. In a time when
fashion is more transient than ever, they offer security and a solid base. After all, you can’t go wrong with a classic.
The mark of a good classic is that it is timeless – as regards silhouette, material, colour and detail. Claudia Strater has selected
new, high-quality materials, fresh colours and subtle details. But the real news is in the sharper outlines, new lengths and volumes
such as a slightly wider sleeve or a slightly closer fitting dress.
The Classics
Every woman wants to have one or more classic items in her wardrobe. Claudia Sträter is offering them this spring, from casual to
elegant. And all of them coordinate perfectly with each other. The blazer with wide trousers or a dress, jeans with a shirt or
tailored jacket. A tunic with skinny jeans.
Technomaterials
The materials used give the classics a contemporary boost, such as linen with a soft sheen and cotton with a metallic effect.
Most of the materials are supple and flowing, giving that extra lightness of linen/silk combinations, silk, and linen with
cotton.
Colour
Spring 2008 sees the return of colour. Clear, fresh, new. Coral, yellow, cobalt and violet bring soft grey to life. While taupe is
accompanied by white, sand, grey-green, lavender, lime and orange. All-time classics are navy blue in combination with white, red
and sand, as well as black and white. The designs are inspired by floral and ethnic prints.
