Killer Loop - Fall/Winter 2007/2008

United Colors of Benetton

The label, designed for skate freaks, now goes further and attracts those young people not necessarily keen on flying pirouettes and other stunts. The Killerloop of next autumn and winter speaks a more universal although predominantly young idiom. Adopting the genre is only a question of date of birth – the more recent this is, the easier it is to be included in the K-direction circle. Not only age however, but style that is a step ahead of the rest of the world and a careful awareness of outstandingly sartorial refinements also count. Put away the rags, rips and various other shabby details – the Killerloop youth know and appreciate embroidery, complex prints, crafted details and actual, still-surviving, technical acrobatics.

woollen jacket Urban Fusion works with the matte and shiny palette of urban grey: asphalt, smog, underground dimness, the metal of railings and tin cans. For the boys there are the varyingly padded blousons with faux fur edges, contrast linings, ribbing and quilting, comfortable (but not too comfortable) trousers in denim and woven fabric and sweaters in wool and jersey with houndstooth check prints and lattice embroidery, and a well-proportioned and effective edging of screw studs, rings jersey t-shirt and reflector details. The girls are up to the challenge, adding flashy linings, small Prince of Wales checks with gusset pockets and decorative zips, glittered and laminated tattoo prints and shaped jackets with a waist belt.

Cool Grunge is shared among the green, beige and brown with warm details in leather. Checks are much in demand by both sexes, whether Madras or Prince of Wales, woven or printed on parkas and sweats, on the lumberjack-type woollen blousons and on the trousers in cotton and needlecord. For him there are the sweaters lined in plush, sweats and tees with laminated prints, patches and heraldic decorations. She adds to the Canadian-style blousons and sweaters the blazer in padded nylon, the white parka in heavy canvas, tees with trompe l’oeil necklace decorations, stitching with lurex yarns, flocked prints imitating chain stitch embroidery and the sexy knit minidress with wide horizontal ribs.
