Olivier Strelli presents a highly contemporary collection, under the banners of elegance and compromise. Everything initially confronts
its opposite, only to finally achieve a perfect symbiosis. Straight cuts and fluid lines ally themselves in a universe where colour
literally explodes. The blends are exceptional and create rhyming harmonies of opposites. Strelli creates sophisticated up-to-the-minute,
yet ultra-feminine silhouettes, which flatter the allure of this winter's woman.
A study in volumes
In her dressing room, the Strelli woman cherishes her small sixties-style rounded jackets. She wears them over flowing pants, the whole
completed with loose 80s-style blouses.
Carefully studied equations for a wide-ranging wardrobe: pencil skirts, knee-length or umbrella-style, also highly tailored short pants
in stunningly luminous materials, and impeccably cut trapeze-style coats, finished with draped collars.
The applied details take the refinement of this collection right to the cutting edge. The absolute star of the season is the "Audrey
Hepburn" dress. Plain, or printed with its short sleeves, it can be warmed with extra-large broad-knitted sweaters. The season's other
star is the "Carla" suit, with its round collar and visible pockets. A resolutely modern ensemble. A pictorial and graphical alchemy.
The palette of colours
The pastels associate with the explosive colours to accentuate the cuts, and enliven the looks. If black, in all its manifestations,
remains the central element of this season, it happily marries with arctic white. A chic duo and a veritably classic ensemble.
The cloths dress themselves in colour, kiss red, rosy cheek, fuchsia, violet... These shades brighten up this impeccable wardrobe,
daring in its audacious contrasts. Plain backgrounds, some distressed, or with graphic motifs and bold prints give a real fashion
designer tone to the Olivier Strelli winter collection. The powdered wisteria, ochre, yellow and stars expand the range offering ever
more possible associations. Finesse is the rendezvous, brilliance the time.
The book of materials
The materials assemble together, without ever resembling each other!
They stand out through their silky feel or their woollen warmth.
A really designed line for dresses and tunics in silky satin prints.
Cold calls for boiled wools, soft alpacas, compact gabardines and wools for jackets, sweaters, chunky cardigans... Although inspired by
the 1960s for those little jackets with their rounded shoulders, it is the 1980s that set the tone for the tailored items in satins and
woven technical polyesters. Each ensemble is finished with a pair of leather gloves inspired by the "reception" style of the British
monarchy.
An identifiable look
This Autumn-Winter 08/09 collection offers a breath of tradition and inventiveness: the surprises come in the details, the innovative
cuts and the managed volumes. Olivier Strelli sees big, but thinks light. He offers a glamorous, refined wardrobe, with tailored
accents, which he plays with extremely palpable feminine nuances!
